Replacement Behavior
One of the things I am finding very helpful in moving forward in my recovery is replacement behavior. If I stop one behavior, I have to have another bahvior to replace the one I stopped. If I am doing something negative for me, and I want to stop it, I have to repalce it with something positive or neutral. You cannot simply "stop" obsessing (for instance). You need to find something positive to think or do to replace obsessing. Without a replacement behavior I find I only return to the negaitve behavior that is no good for me. As an example, I replace obsessing with focus on the moment even if that is just focusing on my breathing and my sense of smell and hearing! Just a thought I am sharing.... More
