Hows This For A Budget Estimate?
Thanks to laz and paul- I've been reading LakeTahoeGuy's postings and it seems we have about the same idea for a proposed trip to the UK. I had an opportunity to share a few days this September with a group from the UK who traveled Route 66 in antique Austin 7 "Chummy's", so that has sparked a re-interest in a trip to Merrie Olde England. I have been checking on UK motel chains and it seems that unlike their US counterparts (TraveLodge US -vs- TraveLodge UK and Travel Inns UK) the UK motels seem to offer only accommodations for 2 adults and small children....one bed only. Motel prices and meals seem about twice that for the same in the US. I also have a copy of the "AA Big Road Atlas (of) Great Britain - 3 Miles To The Inch". I've used this along with the RAC and AA "Route Planner" website to map out my itinerary.... More
