Most of the buddies I've had that enjoy archery use it mostly for hunting. They carry compound bows and they shoot aluminum archery arrows. There's nothing wrong with this. However, there is a whole other side to the archer spectrum. There are long bows and recurves as well. These are more traditional bows, which date back hundreds of years. I prefer them over the contemporary compound bow. Also, as I'm sure you've seen in "Robin Hood," there are wooden arrows. The new-age aluminum archery arrow is not the be-all end-all to archery. I prefer wooden arrows by far. Now, just to be clear, they might not hold up as well for you as aluminum arrows.... More
